Behind the Wheel
Behind the Wheel Drivers Training – Under 18 (7 days) $300.00 (Hampton, Newport News). Williamsburg – $300.00 To schedule please call us at 757-342-3705
In this 7-day program, we provide full transportation with pick-up and drop-off services and will work with your teen to help fine tune their driving skills. We strongly recommend they have prior driving experience and are comfortable behind the wheel. The course covers basic driving skills as well as defensive driving tactics. On the last day of the course, the teen takes the DMV road test with our instructor and upon successful completion, the student will be issued a temporary driver’s license which is valid for six months.
ADULTS Behind the wheel Training – 19 and older (mandatory 7 days) $400.00
Adults Behind the wheel age 18 (mandatory 7 days) $325.00
In this 7-day program, we provide full transportation with pick-up and drop-off services. All adults must have a valid learners permit AND finish certificate (green card) from a Virginia certified 36 hour classroom course. Upon completion driver will receive a finish certificate that can be turned in to the DMV to receive their license, the hard-copy driver license will be mailed to them.

About Us
We have a tremendous amount of experience teaching Driver’s Education in the classroom and
on the road with teens on the Peninsula! With over 15 years’ experience, Erick Mays and Steven
Rose, formerly of Coastal Virginia Driving Academy, are committed to providing a positive,
relaxed, but focused atmosphere in the car.
Co-owner/Instructor: Erick Mays
A native of Newport News, Virginia and a graduate of Menchville High School (‘92) and
Christopher Newport University (‘98). For the last 22 years, he has taught in the Newport News
Public School System. He resides in Newport News along with his family.
Co-owner/Instructor: Steven Rose
A native of Newport News, Virginia and a graduate of Denbigh High School (‘03) and James
Madison University (‘07). For the last 9 years, he has taught in the Newport News Public
Schools System. He resides in Newport News along with his family.
